DVR Remote Viewing on Windows PC

Double Click on CMS_V3.1.0.8.T.20170417 downloaded in step (1) to install.

Click Run when prompted to Open File

Step by Step Adding DVR to CMS
Having the DVR Powered, a USB mouse connected to the DVR, Connected to a monitor, and Connected to the internet with Ethernet cable is required to proceed.
Verify Internet Connection (Screen Images may be different for different DVR models)

At the live viewing screen on the DVR right click with your mouse to bring up a menu.

Click Main Menu on the Pop-up Menu to open the Main Menu

A login prompt will open. Enter login information and press OK to Login. The default username is admin and by default no password is used for system login. Click OK to Login.

The Main Menu is now open. Hover the mouse over Info icon and Click on info icon.

The Info Menu is now open. Click on Version to verify the DVR is connected to the Internet.

Now The Version information menu is open. If Net Status says Connected, then the DVR is connected to the internet and ready for remote viewing. Leave the DVR on this screen, SerialNo is needed later to connect your PC to the DVR. If Net Status does not say Connected See step (7).

If Net Status does not say Connected, but says connecting then right click to go back one menu. Wait 30 seconds to allow the DVR to connect to the cloud. Click on Version again the verify net status is connected. If Net Status does not say Connected, double check make sure the Ethernet cable is connected securely to the Back of the DVR and your network router. If problems still persist change to a new Ethernet cable and reboot the DVR.
Add Internet Connected DVR to CMS

Double Click on CMS Shortcut to Open CMS

A login window pops-up.The default user is super and by default no password is used for login. Enter Login information and click login to start CMS.

Wait while CMS loads

When First Opening CMS or Opening CMS with no Devices a prompt will tell you to add a device to CMS. Click Ok.

To add a DVR click System in the Bottom Right (highlighted by Red).

The Area above System will Change. Click Device Manager (Highlighted by Red).

A device manager window will pop-up.
When the first time adding a DVR an Area must be added. Areas Allow users to group DVRs by area where the DVR is located.
Click Add Area Located near top right of device manager window.

Name the area something related to where the DVR is located (Example: Home,Business).
Enter the name in zone and click OK.

After clicking OK from (8) you will be returned to the device manager window. Click on the zone created in step (8). Then Click ADD DEVICE located on the top (highlighted by red).

The Add Device window will appear with varying options to connect with.
To connect with the Cloud SerialNo you must be outside the network that the DVR is connected to. You cannot connect with Cloud SerialNo if your computer is connected to the same router as the DVR. Trying to connect with Cloud SerialNo on a PC on the same network as your DVR will be unsuccessful. To view your DVR on PC at the DVR location and a remote location 2 DVR entries must be created.
To Connect PC to DVR on a local Network go to step (11).
To Connect PC to DVR on a remote Network go to step (14).

To Connect PC to DVR on a local network.
You will need the DVR powered on with a monitor to gather information for remote viewing setup.
First with the DVR at home live camera viewing screen right click to select Main Menu.
Then login if prompted
At the main Menu Screen Click on System
At the Main Menu > System Screen Click Network
In the Network Screen we need the second entry, IP Address.

Change the Device Name to something relevant to the DVR (example: homeDVRLocal).
Add local to whatever you choose to name the DVR to remind you to use this entry when at the DVR Location.
Enter IP address from Step (11) into IP Address
Enter 34567 for port
Enter Username and Password for DVR. By Default admin is used for username, and no password is used for logging into system, so you can leave these as is and click OK.

If all information is entered correctly CMS will return to Device Manager Window with the DVR added to the device list. Click OK to Return to CMS home. Continue to Step (14) to Setup Remote Connection Via Cloud SerialNo OR Go to Remote Viewing With CMS to learn how to view Cameras with CMS.
If you get a pop up stating could not connect to server check your PC is connected to the network.
If you get a pop up stating could not find device then verify all information (IP Address, Port, UserName, Passoword) is entered correctly.
If you get a pop up stating login in timeout, verify login information is correct.

To Connect PC to DVR on a remote network.
You will need the DVR powered on with a monitor to gather information for remote viewing setup.
First with the DVR at home live camera viewing screen right click to select Main Menu.
Then login if prompted
The Main Menu is now open. Hover the mouse over Info icon and Click on info icon.
The Info Menu is now open. Click on Version to find the Cloud SerialNo for the DVR.
With Info > Version Open we want the entry SerialNo

In Add Device window on CMS LoginType must be checked with Cloud.
Change the Device Name to something relevant to the DVR (example: homeDVRRemote).

Enter the SerialNo found in step (14).

Remote Viewing With CMS

To remote view CMS Open CMS on your computer and login to CMS.

When At CMS Home Screen Your Device List is on the left side of the Screen.
Double Click Your DVR in the DeviceList to login to your DVR.

Once Login is complete you see a Connect Success on the bottom panel.
A list of Cameras will appear below your DVR.

To view all cameras right-click on your DVR and Click on connect all video Main Stream.
You can also click on a H.264 Square to highlight the square with green outline. Then double click on an individual camera to open that specific camera.
You can also drag a camera to a H.264 square to open the camera in that square.

When Finished Viewing Cameras double click on DVR to disconnect all video and log out of DVR.

Click the X on the top right to close CMS, you will be prompted to login. Enter Login information and click OK to close CMS.
